Hey guys, it’s Dr. Kennedy, board certified plastic surgeon here in Atlanta. And today I’m going to talk to you about a tummy tuck. So a tummy tuck is one of the most common operations that I talk with my patients about.

Oftentimes these are moms who have had multiple kids, patients who have lost weight either with gastric surgery, diet or exercise or with the semiglutides. And we talk about addressing two things. The first is extra skin.

Do you have extra skin to remove? The second is, are your muscles stretched out? Do you have a diastasis recti?

Are your six-pack muscles stretched out? If they are, those are the things we’re going to talk about how I can fix in the operating room. No matter how many salads you eat, no matter how many crunches you do at the gym, if those muscles are stretched out, there’s no way they can get back together without the help of me in the operating room doing a muscle glycation.

One thing that we do special here at North Atlanta Plastic Surgery is we use a medication called Xpril, which is a long acting local anesthetic to help with your post-reovery pain. Everyone always worries about their pain after surgery, but this medication allows me to give you local pain relief for up to 3 days in addition to other medications that we have you take like Tylenol, a strong ibuprofen, and a nerve medication with the goal and plan of minimizing narcotic use. If you are interested in talking about a tummy tuck, give me a call, send me a message, and would love to talk to you more about it soon in a consultation.
