Breast Augmentation with Dr. Sarah Kennedy

Hey guys, it’s Sarah Kennedy, a board certified plastic surgeon here in Atlanta. Today I’m here to talk to you about breast augmentation. Breast augmentation is one of the most popular procedures done by plastic surgeons nationwide with over 300,000 procedures performed per year.

One of the main reasons why this procedure is so popular is because women feel so good afterwards. We see improvement in quality of life and breast satisfaction. How women feel day in day out and how they feel in clothing.

When we talk about a breast augmentation, we’re going to talk about a couple things. We’re going to talk about implant type, whether we want to do saline or silicone. We’re going to talk about incision placement and we’re going to talk about what pocket I use either above or beneath the muscle.

The last thing we’ll do is we’ll also talk about your sizing, how big and how small that you want to be. During your augmentation, I will use something called a no touch technique, which minimizes things like infection and scarring around the implant known as caps or contraure. The main way that I do that is by using something called a funnel, which is a device that helps me put the implant in your pocket without touching it.
